Just Add Ink colour challenge #117

Blossom Birthday
My oh my isn't amazing how sometimes things just work.  I had a look at this weeks JAI challenge and was a little skeptical.  Not quite sure of the colours that we had to use.  So any way went on my merry way and bang an idea came to me, so dropped everything and a way creating I went. When I see a colour combo challenge I always seem to overload with the colours, but this time I thought less would be best.

Colour Combo

Now we all know we are our worst critics and its not very often we WOW ourselves with our own work, but I must say I am very very pleased with how my card turned out this time.  So yes I did go WOW looking at the card finished.

I hope you like and its goes WOW for you too.  So don't forget to pop over to the Just Add Ink website and get some more WOW's from all the talented ladies.

This is my card.

May is for Mothers Day

 May is for Mum's
SUO Challenge #44

Well I have had time to put together another challenge card for the Stampin Up Only challenge website.  I have just encountered these bookmark cards and I am loving them.  Not only do I think they add just a little bit more to giving a card but what a great way to give that special person who also loves to read a gift.
This one I have made for my Mother-in-Law as I know she loves reading.

I have used Early Espresso cardstock with Old Olive and some retired Designer Series Paper.  The eyelet border punch was used on the front of the card along with the new release of our Framelits Dies - Labels Collections aren't these just fantastic. I used the Round Tab punch for the top of the bookmark added some Stampin Up Markers for the colouring in and old olive grosgrain ribbon.  The sentiment inside reads "Your in my thoughts, you're in my heart."  from the Word Play stamp set.

So thanks for stopping by to have a look and don't forget to pop over to the SUO Challenges website for more Mother's Day inspiration.

JAI#116 - Just Add...Mother

Oh my goodness it has definitely been a while since I have managed to enter a card in a competition.  But in saying that it doesn't mean I haven't been watching all the challenges that have been and gone.  Everyone never ceases to amaze me with their super talent.  When I popped over to Just Add Ink challenge site today, couldn't believe my luck the challenge is to Just Add Mother.  Well I was lucky as I have just organised my Mothers Day class for next week, so I thought I would enter my card this week.

The card I have made is a Detachable Bookmark Card and here it is.

The first picture is the front of the card and the second one is showing you the detachable bookmark.

I used the Everyday Enchantment designer series paper with Lucky Limeade and Pool Party cardstock.

Scrapbook Layout

Well I did say I would be back with a Scrapbook Layout

Now I did step out of my comfort zone here with this Layout.
Comfort Zone I hear you say. yes that is right, because if you have a look at my page you will see things I don't usually use.

All the papers are from the In Colour range of Stampin Up's but everything else is from my craft stash. Amazing what you can find in there when you have a clean up.

So thanks for stopping by and hope you like my Layout.

Busy Busy Busy

Oh my goodness, when did I last put up at post on my blog. Sorry ladies have been a little away with the fairies lately and been neglecting my blog so to start with today I have decided to show you a picture of a work in progress.

I actually had a very productive day yesterday and managed not only to prep for the Easter Project Class coming up, 3 projects down and 1 to go, but I managed to get some cards done and a Scrapbook layout, I must say a very different layout for me.

Here is a picture of my desk This is actually clean considering I did manage to put away the rubbish and scraps of paper I had left before taking this picture.

See anything that grabs your eye. Well pop back later as I will be posting more soon.

JAI #105 Colour Challenge

Card Challenge
JAI#105 Colour Challenge

Well yes this is my second post for the day as this is the second Challenge I managed to get done yesterday. This time Just Add Ink have decided on a colour challenge. I do like these challenges, makes me step outside my square and use colours I might not use.
These are the colours for the challenge. So off I went, not quite sure what I had in mind, but something always gets created. I did want to make some of the paper roses that I haven't made for a while so that was my starting point.

Here is my card.
I have used my Bigshot alot with this card. Firstly the Dots embossing folder for the background, then the Leaves die for my leaves and the Circles die for my circles. The Roses are hand made and I have used the retired stamp "Birthday Wish" for my saying. I have also scored the leaves for a nice effect.

So thanks for stopping by and don't forget to scroll down so you can check out my other Challenge of a Scrap Layout adding Holiday photos.

JAI Scrapbook Challenge #2 Holiday Photos

Just Add Holiday Photos
JAI Scrap #2

Well yesterday was a very bit of this and bit of that day. After such a very busy weekend with my eldest Son's racing I needed some chilling time, so I sat down at my craft desk and managed to get 2 Challenges done. Woo Hoo and yes they are both for the Just Add Ink website a favorite of mine.

This one is the second Scrap Challenge they have done and for this one we just had to add Holiday Photos. Well with the holidays just gone I certainly did have a few to choose from and I decided to go with the beach ones.

For my challenge today I have used our In colours. I started with
the Pool Party 12" x 12" textured paper and then for the photo backing I used the Peach Parfait and Island Indigo, with a touch of the Pear Pizzazz as well. I stamped the retired stamp set Seaside in Island Indigo and cut out the shells to add to the page. I have used the Vintage Market Alphabet die in the bigshot to get my title "Beach Fun" I have cut out two of each one in Island Indigo and one in Pear Pizzazz. A little bit a spritzing around the edges and there you have, my layout for the challenge.

The hardest part of this layout was sticking the letters back to back. But I do like the end results.

Don't forget to pop over to the Just Add Ink website to see what the design team have come up with.

Wednesday Workshop - Vintage theme

Well Ladies tomorrow is another Workshop Wednesday
and this time I have gone with the Vintage Theme.

So all 3 make and takes will have the vintage look.

Here is a sneak peak of what to expect tomorrow.

And lookie here its a Male card.... I know everyone including
me have trouble making male cards, we all like the bling and
flowers, but we still from time to time need a male card.
This is one of the new stamp sets called Need for Speed.

So for those of you who are coming tomorrow see you then.
