Day 4 Bloghop

Day 4 My Bloghop

Oh shucks you ladies are just so nice, all popping in and leaving me lovely comments. I must say having alot of fun reading them all. We only have 2 days left to go including this one, oh thats sad.

So far I have had a Christmas Card, A Card Box to store all your handmade cards, and a Gift Card holder, so wonder what todays will be.

Christmas time is filled with lots and lots of giving, receiving, drinking, eating, socializing and spending time with the people you care about, not to mention all those snap happy photos that we seem to take.
The good ones the unexpected ones, the hold you to ransom ones, the funny ones, the sad ones and when the day is finished we all have abit of a giggle and laugh after we see them again, but with all the snap photos that were taken there is always that Special One, so instead of leaving it in the draw with the rest of them why not put it on a Scrap Page. So there you have everyone this post today is of a Scrapbook Layout just for the Special Photo taken on Christmas Day.

In keeping with my Christmas theme I have used the Letters to Santa Designer Series Papers for this layout. I have added Riding Hood Red and Early Espresso cardstock along the side and used the torn paper effect. I also tore the paper for my photo mat in Marina Mist then added some chunky glitter around the edges. Early Espresso ribbon down the other side and my favorite the Rosette done in Riding Hood Red.

Here I have used the stamp set Punch Pals again in the three co-ordinating colours, stamped some trees along the bottom and then I have Spritzed the layout with Early Espresso.

A Close up of the Rosette, again I have used the chunky glitter and spritzer tool.

So far we have 8 ladies in the draw for the prize at the end of tomorrow. So don't forget today and tomorrow, as I will be drawing the winner on Saturday and will notify you.

Thanks for stopping by and see you all tomorrow for my last project and a photo of the prizes you could win.......

Day 3 My Bloghop

Day 3 of my Bloghop

Firstly I would like to say Thankyou to everyone that is popping by and leaving me comments, I am having so much fun and love reading them all. So hopefully you are enjoying my Bloghop as much as I am and especially enjoying the projects I am showing you.

Well today I will be showing you all a nifty way to give a Gift Card. I mean really how boring are those cards (if you can call them that) they come with, well here is a personal special way for all your friends to receive a Gift Card from you either for their Birthday, Christmas or maybe Just Because.

I have used the DSP Letters to Santa for my postage stamp on the front (you get a whole page of these and I love them you could even put one on the envelope.) I have white embossed the Merry and Bright from the Merry and type Stamp Set. Marina Mist and Riding Hood Red cardstock as these colours co-ordinate with the DSP. Inside I have used the Designer Label and Word Window punch to make the slot for the Gift Card to sit in and well there you have everyone a nice way to give a Gift Card.

Isn't this so cute with the Postage Stamp n the front.

I will also be offering some Prizes. To be in the running to
win some great prizes just before Christmas you will need
to visit my blog every day for the next five days.
Not only do you need to visit and check out my project for the
day but you will need to let me know that you have stopped
by so I can put you in the draw to win those Prizes.
How to let me know, you will need to leave a comment
on all 5 posts don't forget to add your name. This can be done
by clicking the Post Comment at the bottom of each post.

Thanks for stopping by

Day 2 Bloghop

Well its day 2 of my Bloghop and this project is a
card holder for all your hand made cards.

I have used the DSP Big Top Birthday paper
the scallop Trim Border Punch and some retired
Ribbon

This card holder will hold all your A5 Cards and a great idea
to store your cards ready to post out.
Stamp Set Letter It was used for the "C"

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget you must comment
to be in the draw to win some great Blog Candy, just in time
for Christmas.

Day 1 - My Bloghop

Day 1 of 5

Well thats right everyone todays is the first day of my five day bloghop.
Today and the next four days I will be showing you
all a Christmas Project for you all to enjoy and hopefully
get you inspired and excited about Christmas.

So for my first project I have done a Christmas Card.
This card looks so effective and really is quite easy to do.

I have used Sahara Sand for the base and bits of left over Designer Series Papers for my tree. (Great idea to get rid of those odd bits of DSP) I have spritzed the card with Soft Suede and heat embossed the Snowflakes with gold embossing power.

So now don't forget pop in for the next five days and leave a comment.
Must leave a comment on all five projects to be in the draw to win
the prizes. I will also put a photo of the prizes up on the last day.

Everyone is Welcome to join in to win the Prizes, the more the merrier.

So until next time
Happy Stamping

JAI 95 - Bah Humbug!

Christmas Thank You Cards and
JAI 95 - Bah Humbug!

Well we are well and truly running out of time for all those Christmas Cards. Were has the time gone.... I needed to make some Christmas Thank you's and over at Just Add Ink website this week's challenge is to make a Christmas project but with NO Christmas paper, NO Christmas images (Christmas sentiment allowed), so I thought I would make my Thank you's with that in mind.

I have used Poppy Parade, and PDSP stack in Pear Pizzazz, I have used the Petite Pennant Builder punch for my tree, cut the triangle out free hand and added a sentiment from the Snow Swirled stamp set. I also heat embossed green embossing powder around the outside of the card.
Here is what it turned out like.

So don't forget to pop over to the Just Add Ink website for lots more inspiration.

ps. I need to make 20 of these....

Thanks for stopping by.

SUO Challenge Treats for a Treat

Treat Holders for everyone
SUO#30 Challenge

Well I am sure everyone knows that its not long now until Christmas.
So what better way to get organized than to start now.
Stampin Up Only Challenges have a challenge this week for everyone to make something to hold a treat.

With Christmas in mind I have decided to go with a Christmas Treat Holder.
I must admit this is a very easy and quick way to give a small chocolate to some one to show you are thinking of them. Not only that these are really great to pop on the table with your Christmas Crackers.

I have gone for the Australian Look this year for Christmas as I am sure we are going to be in for a hot one again. What better way to show we are proud aussies with our Happy Christmas Mate Stamp set.

I have cut out 2 of the wider tags from the Two Tags Die (115954) joined them together and put the chocolate inside and secured with some of the Cherry Cobbler Seam binding Ribbon (120992)
Yes I have done some very fussy cutting because I have used the Kangaroo from the Happy Christmas Mate stamp set (115918) coloured him in with my aqua painter and them adhered him to the front of the tag box. I used the A gift for you stamp from the Beautiful Season stamp set (124944) as well.
This is the side with with the chocolate inside.
I did put a little of sticky on the chocolate so it wouldn't fall out
Cardstock and Ink - Wild Wasabi - Cherry Cobbler

Dont forget to pop over to SUO website to get some more great ideas to present your treats

Album Class - WOW

I decided to make a paper Bag Album to do for my lovely ladies, as they all love doing albums. They wanted a sepia look, so off to my catty I went and choose my colours and embellishments that I wanted to use. Waited for my order to arrive and set about putting the album together.
I did this in stages as I did have my other life that needed attention as well, so I would say over about 3 days I managed to finish my album.
(no not all my time was used in these 3 days probably about 3 1/2 hours)
Now with a date set and a list of eight names I set about getting organized for the class. Boy oh boy did I regret saying that I would cut everything out for them. I must of been insane...hehe Well I am going to tell you because it was quite a feat it took me 1 hour per album. Yep you read right 1 hour, now you times that by 8 and I am sure you can come up with an answer.
Anyway it was well worth all my time and I was so pleased with the comments from my lovely ladies. They were all thrilled with the finished project. I must say they all did a great job and again yes it was very tiring and sitting down for so long was very hard on the back.

So guess what Ladies I am now in the process of organizing another one.

Here are some pictures of the class

First is before everyone arrived.

Here are all the lovely Ladies

Left to right
Vera, Anne, Zoe and Kerry
now if you have a looksie at Kerry's hand, its bandaged up
Although it was very hard for Kerry to do this album due to
her hand, that was not going to stop her, she enlisted in the
help of my daughter Zoe.
What a ball Zoe had, she loved it.

right to left
Kerry, Josie, Ann and Kylie

left to right
Carol, Vera, Ann, Zoe and Kerry

Yes Ladies I say WOW, what a class, I never imagined it would be so big.

I will be back with some photos of the album later.

Thank you all for coming and I am so pleased that you all had a good time.
Until next time
Happy Stamping

50 Years, JAI88

50 Years and still going strong.
Just Add Ink Challenge 88

Well yes that is right everyone my Mum and Dad are celebrating a milestone today because it is their 50th Wedding anniversary. What an accomplishment, I say. Three cheers for them. So with that in mind as it really is a special day I wanted to make a special card. Now for the 50th its Gold. So I had some of the brushed gold papers in my stack and set about making their card. I have also used the very vanilla which I think go lovely together.

I wanted to make a style that I haven't done before and as I have seen alot of these I went with this style not sure what its called. I have used a couple of the dies that go through the bigshot machine as well and I am loving this die called Fun Flowers at the moment. It is just so gorgeous.

Before I popped my card in its envelope I did abit of blog surfing and went and had a look at my favorite challenge website Just Add Ink and blow and behold the challenge this week is to Just add a Die Cut. This card is perfect for this weeks challenge so I have entered it. I have been very busy for a while now and haven't been doing alot of the challenges from Just Add Ink, but I am now back and ready to play. So pop on over to their web and have a look at all the inspiration from the Design Team.

Here is my card
I have die cut the flowers and water spritzed and scrunched up and stuck together with a gold brad. The other flower at the top right corner is the Blossom Party Die and put together like the other one. The very vanilla cardstock is embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper folder. The wooden 50 has been daubed with gold metallic ink.

I have put a photo of my parents when they were dating on the front and then I put a photo of them on their wedding day on the inside of the card. I took photos of my card prior to putting these photos on.

I had enough flowers left over so I could put one on the inside and the envelope.
This is a picture of the whole package. So thank you for stopping by and until next time, Happy Stamping.

Happy Birthday Slider

Well I am not that organised still, as it is my Dad's birthday today and last night I thought oops better make him a card. I mean I am a card maker, right so I really couldn't give him a store brought one, could I.
So I thought I might make him something different and I have seen these slider cards around and never really got to make one. So this was my goal.
Oh my why haven't I made these before... I really thought these where tricky (hard) to make but believe it or not they are quite easy. Why haven't I done these before?
So as my dad is a handy man, jack of all trades. I decided on the totally tools stamp set and tool shed background stamp. I went with the new In Colours of Island Indigo and Pool Party and this is what I came up withThis is the front of the card

and this is what it looks like when you pull the string.
(dont mind the odd blue look this is what I blurred out as I wrote on it before I took the picture.)

I think I will be making this style again.

Birthday Wishes JAI 79

Just Add Ink Challenge #79

Well I thought I would squeeze in another challenge, maybe my last as I will be packing up my craft room very soon for the big move. So again I popped on over to the Just Add Ink website to see what challenge was on for this week. They came up with Just Add Tearing/Distressing to your project.

As I haven't used my Brights for along time so I thought I would dig out the colours and try and come up with a card from this group. I also went along with a Stamp Set that is being retired at the end of this month in Eastern Blooms. I knew I had to use some embossing folder as I just love these things so went with the Square Lattice. I actually also remember to add some buttons to my card for a change. (I always seem to forget about these little guys). So with that in mind this is how my card turned out.

Here is a close up of the Square Lattice Embossing.
So as you can see I had a ripping time.

Friday, August 5, 2011

Well I have a card to show you today, which is a rather sad reason. A friend passed away a couple of days ago so I needed to make a Special Card. I lucky for me don't do alot of sympathy cards and did find this one difficult.

I decided to use the Brushed Metallic papers in the Gold and my layers where in Very Vanilla. The embosslit die Beautiful wings also in the brushed metallic paper and some pearls. I did also spray some of the glimmer mist for some extra bling but hasn't come up to well in the photo.

Anyway here is the end result
