Well I am showing you today a picture of a card I made for my Friends Baby Shower. You see I can show you now as I have given it to Kylie and I know she visits from time to time so didn't want to spoil the surprise.I have used Marina Mist as the main card, with the layers in Bashful Blue. I used the scallop trim border, which I just love ATM. I crimped the top right hand side and folded over with a gold eyelet. I had some blue umbrella eyelets in my stash, which was just perfect for this card. I used the sizzix Teddy Die for the teddy bear. Blue rhinestones for his eyes.
Well Ladies thought I would show you where I do all my work. As you can see I have everything at hand and a big desk to make lots of mess. This is where my classes are also held, except I do clean up. hehe
I have all my bits and bots in filing cabinets, all my stamp sets are together on my wall unit. The A4 cardstock are in the drawers in their colour groups for easy reach. My punches are on the board I made from wood and towel rails. All the 12" x 12" papers on are the wire rack and of course my computer is right there as well.
Thanks for stopping by
Well Christmas has come and gone and we all had a lovely day. It was abit sad this year due to the fact that my Mum and Dad couldn't attend any celebrations due to Mum being very sick. First year ever and it was very sad, it just wasn't the same without them. Anyway our day didn't start too early around 7am. Kids all got their gifts and then we headed off to Perth for Breakfast with my Brother and his family. Once we had eaten and sat around for a while talking we played Chris Cringle, where everyone had to buy a gift and then as names where called we chose a gift, object of the game is to be called last because you get to see all gifts but one, so you can pinch one off someone else if you wished. A fun and very exciting game. We then headed home in the very hot weather and unfortunately the traffic was very slow, everyone seemed to be heading home from Perth. Then we all sat around and made up some of the pressies the kids got, (eg Lego etc) had abit of a swim and then had a light tea. Mother in law and my Sister also stayed with us. But hey all in all a rather relaxing day. Thought I would just pop in with a post to today to show you some of my cards that my lovely ladies made for me.
This one is from the Lovely Ann. Thank you very much..
This card is from my downline, Simone, hope you had a great day.
This is from the very talented Barbara.
This is one from the lovely Elizabeth.
Thanks Ladies for the wonderful cards.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you all
had a Wonderful Christmas
Here is another layout this time a Christmas one, Yes that's right its not even Christmas and I have done a layout..hehe this one is from last year..... I have used Holiday Treasures DSP, Old Olive 12" x 12" cardstock and real red. The ornament punch and top note die for the bigshot. I have also done some faux braiding with my real red ribbon along the left hand side.
I no I no its nearly Christmas in fact only 2 more sleeps. yippee And I am doing Halloween Layouts, well you know what its like, never enough time to do the things you need to do. Like I said over the break I will be catching up on my Layouts so here are another 2 that I have completed.....Hooray only another 200 to do......
This one is of my kids on Halloween. Do they look just too scary....
I have used Basic Grey 12" 12" cardstock and real red for my embossing with the Spiderweb and Skulls folders. I used my punches to make my little pumpkin and the smart guy alphabet dies for the Trick or Treat and the spider die for my 2 lovely (not) red back spiders.
Most of the same materials here for this one of my eldest son, Travis.
Thanks for stopping by Until next time Happy Stamping Karen
Well as I mentioned before I am using the Just Add Ink Challenges to catch up on all my holiday snaps that need to be done. Especially now since the Christmas Festive season is here and things are a little quiet with classes etc, it gives me some time to do the things I need to do. So with the sketch above I began first with the photos I wanted to use and this is the Layout I came up with.
I have used Black 12" x 12" cardstock with Very Vanilla and then I also used the DSP Newsprint. I added 6 black eyelets along the right side and threaded some Linen Thread through. The flowers are made with the Scallop Circle punch and I have used some of that great packing paper we get with our orders. When I actually took this photo I did have a Layout in mind, because the statue was just a little too big to get into one photo so I took three and just joined them together. Amazing isn't it I am on holiday with my family and I still think about scrapping/craft, hehehe..
Anyway thought I would get this page done although the challenge goes for 2 weeks this time instead of 1, but knew I might not have time after Christmas. So thanks for stopping by and all comments are greatly received and read.
Well you guessed it another time for a Challenge. The Just Add Ink design team just keep on giving out these great challenges for all of us. I was unsure about these colours for a while.
I had made up my mind to do another Scrapbook Layout but with these colours? Not quite sure how?
With that in mind I decided I needed some photos, so off I went in search of the perfect photos for these colours.
If your like me and have loads and loads of photos and not much time to get them onto layouts, then finding some photos to go with things shouldn't be that hard.....
Because I thought these colours where quite vibrant, colorful and fun, I needed some photos to fit the theme.
This is what I came up with.
These are some pictures I had taken from our Holiday a wee while ago, and I thought the colour suited these images pretty good. I mean its fun, colourful and suited the scenes. I was pretty chuffed with my picture along the top of the kids. They were actually lying on the footpath when I took it but with a pair of scissors in my hand, I like the way it looks at the top of the page.
I have used my scallop circle punch to make my umbrellas and I have also added some sand along the bottom of the page. Although very hard to see I have used my scor-pal to scor a design onto the tempting turquoise cardstock.
12" x 12" Riding Hood Red Cardstock
Tempting Turquoise A4 cardstock
Daffodil Delight cardstock
Scallop Circle Punch
Lolly Pop sticks
Smart Guy Alpha dies (bigshot)
White gel Pen (for my seagulls)
The sun just hand made
With my classes coming to an end for the Holiday season. I have decided that it is time to get all the things I have put on hold, done over the break, so don't forget to pop in from time to time because I will be posting my projects as I do them. I hopefully will get lots of Layouts done as I have so many photos, I need to get them organised. So if you need some inspiration for those happy snaps pop in and don't forget I will be having Scrapbook classes next year as well.
Well last week over at Just Add Ink they set a challenge to Just Add Critters. I ended up making a Christmas Layout. I also then decided to make another one, to go with that one and this one is for Trimming the tree. Some of the inspiration come from the Idea Book & Catalogue on page 25, so Ladies don't forget to use your Books as you can lots and lots of ideas from it.

Well everyone you know that I enter the Just Add Ink Challenges most weeks. Well last week they had a challenge set down to Just Add Critters. So I set out to make a Christmas Layout and using the Happy Christmas Mate came up with my Six White Boomers Layout. Drum roll please .............................................................................................................. I was chosen in the Top 5, yippppeeeee, I am so excited.... If you scroll down the page you can see my entry. Thanks so to the Design Team over at Just Add Ink, they are amazing. Setting these challenges and giving us samples each week,. they do a marvelous job .............................................................................................................. Oh did I mention I was chosen in the Top 5. hehehe
Well another Friday and with it another challenge from the great design team ladies over at Just Add Ink.
They have set down a challenge this week to just add CRITTERS. Unfortunately I am still in Christmas mode, well its not to far away is it now?. So with that in mind I decided to challenge myself even more because they have asked for more Scrapbook Layouts, so I sat down and came up with a Christmas Layout.
My colour choice is of course christmassy, Old Olive, Riding Hood Red and White with abit of Chocolate Chip for my Tree. I also used the Happy Christmas Mate Stamp Set. As we live in Perth and with that we always seem to have a sunny Christmas Day I went with the Aussie Theme.
Kangaroos and Koalas are the go for my Critters today.
I do love the song 6 White Boomers, Snow White boomers oh well I wont write the whole song, but I based my Layout on this them.
If you have never heard this song, click the link to here Rolf Harris singing,
Well Ladies you will have to wait until tomorrow, but Stampin Up are have a December Frenzy. Some great specials here, so check back tomorrow to find out what?????? You will need to click on the Specials page along the top...
Well finally had a chance to sit down and make another card for the Just Add Ink Challenge. This week the design team have come up with a sketch.
I decided to make a Thank you card as I needed one this week. So got out the Owl Punch which I haven't used a lot but thought this would be good for the card I needed. I found some googly eyes in my box so thought they looked great for my little owl. Anyway don't forget to click on over to the Just Add Ink website for more great inspiration from more demo's and the design team. You will find the link on the right hand side.
I have been doing lots of practicing with my brayer of late, as I love the way the cards look at the finish, I must admit practice does make perfect. I also tried the reflection look for this card and I do like how it has all turned out.
I really liked this set when I saw it and I did have in mind the reflection technique because I think it really is a great set for this technique. Again I just kept practicing and this was the final result.
Well here is a card I made for a special friend that lives in the UK. I have used the stamp set called Happy Christmas Mate, and Lovely as a Tree. I used the sponging technique to get my background and then yes I have to admit it.... I love the new shimmer paints. Doesn't that sparkle just look so great. I used a mask for the sun.
Ok Ladies don't forget about the stand alone pages along the top, just under my header. Click on these to catch up with my news, specials and classes. They can only be viewed by clicking on the button along the top. I am getting very clever with my blog now, so pop back regularly as this is where you will be kept up to date.
Well as we are aware its nearly that time again, where Santa comes to visit. My Upline and Downline group that meet every month have decided next month to go out for tea and get together for some Christmas Cheer. We all decided too that we would make a gift and then everyone gets to pick one. So I decided to make a Stationery Box. I have used Soft Suede, Baja Breeze cardstock and the Designer Series Paper Elegant Soiree. Here is a picture of the box open. Inside the box I have put in 2 normal size cards, 2 note cards and 2 tags. There is also room for a notebook and pen. I hope who ever gets this will like it.
Well its that time again another Just Add Ink Challenge. I must say this gave me the inspiration I needed to get my Sisters Birthday Card done and also gave me a chance to do something I have been wanting to do for a while now. I have seen around the Shoe's that the wonderfully talented Ellen Hutson has designed and I knew this is what I wanted for my wonderful Sister. So with that in mind and the colours set out by the design team at Just Add Ink I came up with this.
It is very hard to see in the picture but I have used the new shimmer paints and sprayed the shoe for a nice glittery look. I made the card from my head (and no it didn't hurt) and then used the new Embossing Folder that comes out on the 1st December called Square Lattice, I also finished the card off with some Paper Roses (by Tania Gould) and I also put one on the shoe.
Here is a close up of the card, you can see the embossing and I am happy with the way it turned out. So don't forget to click on the link on the right hand side to see what everyone else has come up with. There are some great designs from all the Design Team.
Thanks for looking Karen
Here is just another one I also did in the black and white. I left the card blank so I can use for anything.
Right to left: Kerry, Elizabeth, Cheryl and Barbara
Absent: Vera and Carol
Here was another stamp club meet and this was our last one for this year, as we are having a break in December. The ladies got to make 2 cards tonight, both being Christmas Cards.
Pop back soon to see what they made.
Well as we are all aware Christmas isn't to far away. So with that in mind I recently held my Christmas Stamp-A-Stack class and this is one of the cards all the ladies got to make. With the design team over at Just Add Ink making this weeks challenge to "Just add Christmas", I thought this would be a good card to enter. I have used Real Red and Whisper White cardstock, the stamps sets used are Dasher and Perfect Punches. I have embossed our lovely Dasher in silver embossing powder and then with the Spritzer tool have added a bit of a splash background. So don't forget to pop on over to the Just Add Ink website (click logo on right hand side), for lots more inspiration to get you on the right track for Christmas.
Well Christmas isn't too far away now so hope you have started all your cards and projects. Here is another card and gift box. I have used the traditions paper, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Old Olive. The card is made with the nestabilitie dies and the box is made from the pillow box die.
Well found some time today to sit down and finally make one of these great party favors. I have used the retired Holiday Treasures Designer Series Paper and I actually even made the stand for it. I have seen these around alot but never actually got the chance to make one, I am happy with the way it turned out. Here is a picture of the top view.
My mum's birthday is coming up soon so thought I would sit down and try and come up with something rather special for her. This card is made using stampin up punches. The lovely lady Valiata is such an inspiration, I knew I just had to make one of these flowers for my Mum.
Well the Ladies have set another challenge for this week. With Pink Ribbon Day coming up on the 25th October, to raise money for Breast Cancer they decided to make this week's challenge set around this. Just add Bling, and of course Pink.
My card I have used Blushing Bride for the main card with a layer of Very vanilla. I then stamped the French Script background stamp on the layer and made a bunch of Roses out of the 2 Step Bird Punch for the main feature. The saying Friends are flowers that never fade is from the new stamp set Friends Never Fade (#121522 $31.95) I have also used the new Scallop trim corner punch (#118870 $19.95).
Don't forget to drop by the Just Add Ink website for some more inspiration from all the wonderful Design Team and other Demonstrators.
Remember the post with some Purse Bags that I did a little while ago, Well I have had a play with the template and this is a smaller version of the other one that I made. These are very quick and easy to make, what a great gift for someone. A couple of chocolates and gift card a small bottle of perfume or even some craft bits and bobs will fit nicely inside one of these Bags.
Hi All, sorry I haven't put up any new posts for a while but it has been crazy here. I really need to sit down at my craft desk and get cracking. So keep an eye out as I will be posting more soon. Hey have you all noticed my new look blog, hope you like it. I might need to work on my header as it just doesn't seem right now. I love playing with my blog design it keeps you all on your toes, and me too. Don't forget to click over to my Stamping-Time website for all class information, I have some coming up, so go check it out. Until next time
Well I got some time today to have another go at a challenge that the Just Add Ink design team have come up with. I did think about this one for a while as I do find these themes a wee bit hard. We had to come up with a card with the theme Sympathy. So here is what I came up with.
I have used some new colours with River Rock as the base of the card and Pear Pizzazz for the layers. This is a different design card as I have used a piece of acetate as a layer on the front of the card, stamped my Tree Image on Pear pizzazz and stuck it on the inside of the card behind the acetate. The sentiment has been stamped with stazon ink on the front of the acetate. I added some borders with the scallop punch for above and below the acetate and added a Butterfly to the top left hand side and with the new Scallop trim Punch I punched a corner from the top of the card but the front part only, popped abit of pear pizzazz behind it and there you have it.
Here is another view of the card so you can see the inside.
