PDCC#70 and Curtain Call #70 challenge

Well yippee I managed to do another challenge today in the scorching heat and guess what, yep you guessed it this card is actually for 2 challenges. Whoa having a good week with challenges.

The first is the Play Date Cafe challenge #70

and the second one is for Curtain Call #70,

how bizarre both number 70 with very similiar colours. Don't you just love the inspiration photo they have given us.

So I wanted a really quick and simple card this time round and this is what I came up with.
I went with the colours of course from the Challenge, Tempting Turqouise as my layer and then with the ornament punch I punched out 2 vases in the Pear Pizzazz design papers and same ink for the leaves and Tangerine Tango for my flowers. The stamp set I used is Fresh cuts. Embossing folder Square Lattice and curled right hand corner and secured with a gold brad.

Thanks for stopping by and any comment is great received.

Birthday Bliss - Just Add Ink 57

Two challenges with one card. Yippee

Just Add Ink and SU Only

Well I suppose I am like most of you at the moment. Had enough of all this hot weather..... Just a little rain would be lovely. Anyway even though its very hot here I still had a chance today to sit down and do some challenges. I managed to make a card that fitted two challenges today...oh I am getting clever even if I say so myself. The first one is for the Just Add Ink, one that I frequent a lot as I just love what the design team come up with. Really gets my mind thinking. This week they set out a colour challenge.

The other one is for SU-Only Challenge. They asked us to use a stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

So with everything set out on my craft desk of I went. Here is my card I came up with.

I have used the above colours and the stamp set Bliss from the Sale-A-Bration catty. I also used Daffodil Delight Ribbon and the Hat Pin with pearls from the Pretties Kit (retired). In the top right hand corner I have used the scallop corner punch and placed some Cherry Cobbler underneath.
I have used the new shimmer champagne Mist also, here is a close up.

So thanks for stopping by and any comment is appreciated.

Melbourne

Well I also managed tonight to finish off a Layout that I started last week. This is also for challenge which is for the group I belong to SOS - Stamping Obsessed Scrapbookers. We had to do a layout using squares.

My eldest son went to Melbourne not to long ago so I have quite a few Pictures of his trip so, this is one that I have used.

I started with a 12" x 12" Baja Breeze and thought I could use up some of the retired DSP Papers I have, so used the Pacific Point for my squares. I added a dazzling diamond chipboard "M" and cut the rest of the letters out in real red. Add some shimmer paint to both corners and there you have it.

Just Add Ink #56

Just Add Ink Challenge Number 56

Well finally managed to sit down and get another challenge in before it closes. This week for the Just Add Ink challenge we have a sketch to follow. Its funny how you have something in mind but its just not what you end up with. A few minor changes here, and a little change there and its completely different to what you set out to do. Not to mention the throw away pieces to start again.

I chose for my card this time the colours Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Rose Red and whisper white. I decided to emboss the white with the Square Lattice Folder which is a favorite of mine at the moment. Rather than stamp an image I decided to use the Blossom Party Die and make my flower. I then sponged over it with Wild Wasabi Ink and edged with Rose Red. I used the Top note die for my So Saffron piece which is stamped with Happy Birthday from the "On Your Birthday set" in rose red ink. I have used So Saffron ribbon which is just twisted and to make the flower I punch out a circle, placed glue all over it and then wrapped the twisted ribbon around until the circle was covered. I also used the 'Build-a-Brads' to make my centre for the flower. Not originally what I set out to do but nevertheless happy with the end results. Hope you like it too.

Don't forget to pop over to the Just Add Ink site for more inspiration

Curtain Call #69 Challenge

Well another challenge card I managed not to leave to the last minute, like I have been lately. Sometimes I just don't know where the time goes. this challenge is over at Stacey's Stamping Stage.
This is another great colour challenge, we have five to play with....Tried to keep the balance with all these colours this time, as I did find it challenging with 5 colours. This is what I came up with.

The main card is Cherry cobbler, with a layer of crumb cake which I have embossed with my scor-pal around the edges. The flower is made up with 4 layers 2 of real red and 2 of very vanilla, (gee sure doesn't sound like a card, but a cake, lol) which have been spritzed with water and scrunched and then I unravelled to form the flower with a red rhinestone brad in the centre, the leaves are from my favorite punch the 2 step bird punch and then I have used the embosslit die for the Butterflies and the True Friend stamp is from the SAB set Punch Bunch.

So I say thank you for stopping by to have a look and let me know you have been by leaving a short comment. I love reading them all.

Until next time
Happy Stamping

A cause for Cards Challenge

A Cause for Cards

Cards for Diggers Month

Well I have just one more challenge and that is the Cause for Cards challenge, where all cards entered are donated and then sent to the Charity to sell and raise some money. A very worthy challenge. As it is Cards for Diggers month all cards donated will be sent to our troops so that they can all send their Mothers/Wife a card on Mothers Day. So we need to make a Mothers Day card in Red, Blue and White.

I have used Pacific Point as I think this blue is just so vibrant I love it as well as Real Red and Whisper White. I embossed the whisper white with the Square Lattice folder and I used my ornament punch to make the vase, the leaves are punched from the 2 step bird punch and the word Mum is from the Harmony Alphabet die set. To make my flowers I used the 5 petal punch and flower Soft.

Here is a close up of the flowers.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out A Cause for Cards.
Any one can have a play.

Curtain Call Challenge 68

Well yep another challenge this one is for the Curtain Call Colour Challenge and what an amazing colour combination we have to work with this week.

It took me a little while to actually get something in my head of what I was going to do, But I am happy with the end result.

Cardstock:- Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White and Pink Pirouette
Stamp Set:- Perfect Punches
Access:- Rhinestone Brads, Scallop Trim border, Corner Trim Border, Melon Mambo Ribbon, dimensions and Crystal Effects.

I made my flowers by ripping a piece of paper into a circle, 3 layers each layer smaller than the first one and then spray with water and scrunch, carefully unravel and let dry. I added the rhinestone brad for some bling and although very hard to see I have put droplets of crystal effects over the flowers to look like water drops.

So if you want to see what everyone else has come up with drop by the Staceys Stamping Stage

PDCC68

Well its time for another challenge over at the Play Date Cafe. This week we have a colour challenge, and well I must say I love this combination, it is so subtle. But looks great together, thanks Ladies

I have chosen Crumb Cake for the main card, with a Top Note die layer of Very Vanilla and Blushing Bride. I embossed the Blushing Bride top note with Petite Fleur embossing folder. I have used the 5 petal punch for my flower and the sizzix die Scribble Swirls. I added ribbon in Blushing Bride along the bottom. Some rhinestones and kindy glitz for some bling.

Here is a close up of the flower.

Don't forget to pop over to the Play Date Cafe to see what all the other talented ladies and design team have come up with.

Just Add Ink #55

Well Ladies here is another card for the challenge over at Just Add Ink. This week they have come up with a Theme. Just Add "Love". When I read this I automatically thought of Valentine's Day, especially as it is just around the corner. But with that in mind, I really didn't want to make a card with all the Pink's, Red's, and White's. I decided to do a more masculine card this time round. Which you can still did lovey dovey card's for the man in your life with out the pinks and reds etc.

Sp I set about to make my card and I have used:-

Cardstock - Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla
Stamp Sets - Artistic Etchings, French Script
Ink - Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Access - Jumbo Brads, Twine, Oval Punch, Dimensions, Champagne Mist
Tech - Paper Tearing

Here is the card finished

Happy Birthday Wheelie, SUOC 12

SUOC 12

Well recently I had a class and I showed them all how to use the builder wheels. So I thought this would be a good card for the SUO Challenge as they are asking us to use the wheels.

Here is the card I made.

I have used Bashful Blue, Regal Rose and Whisper White cardstock. The Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Hodgepodge Hardware, Stampin Pastels.

I rolled my Builder wheels in versamark and then using a dauber I have used the Stampin Pastels to colour.
Builder wheels used are: Birthday, Posy Party and Thoughtful Friend.

Thanks for looking and don't forget to click over to what everyone else has come up with.
