Sailaway JAI 78

Sail Away

Well I managed to sneak in a very quick card last night.
I decided to go with the Just Add Ink 78 Colour Challenge.
When I first saw these colours I immediately thought of
the single stamp Sail Away. It didn't even enter my mind
that as I have only just got this Stamp that I wanted to use it.
Who needs as reason to play with a new Stamp. Not me.

So I sat down and put together this very quick and easy card.
I did like the fact that it really wasn't very hard and I had it
done within 10 mins really. So if you need a quick card
this one is for you.

I have used the colours above and of course the Sail Away stamp,
some certain celery ribbon from my stock and an antique brad
for the centre of the ribbon. I did water colour the mast then cut out
and adhered to the stamped choc chip boat. Added some glimmer Mist
for that watery spray look and there you have it.....

Here is a close up of the Glimmer Mist.

So don't forget to pop on over to the Just Add Ink website for some more inspiration using the above colours.

Scrapbook Layout JAI77

Another challenge over at the Just Add Ink
website and this week we have a Sketch

After having a think about this one, I decided I was going to take this Sketch and put it in to a Scrapbook Layout. I always need inspiration and a reason to catch up with my scrapbook layouts.

I had a look through all my stamps sets and decided to use a set that I haven't used in a while. "Sense Of Time". With the stamp set chosen I needed to work out my colours. You see I already had the sketch designed for me, I just needed to follow that. So I decided to go with abit of a vintage look. Choc Chip, Very Vanilla PDSP and Very Vanilla.

I started with the great easy effect of paper tearing, and yes I had a ripping time, as I did rip quite alot of papers. Now with that done I just had to put the finishing touches to it.
You should see my desk with all the ripped pieces of paper I have left..........Oh I just had a thought I will use some of these for the bit that goes along the left hand side......Well not bad at all, I think it fits in with the layout....Waste not want not I say.hehe.
Anyway the finishing touches to this page. I stamped the Clock and tore it out and then I used the Cracked Glass technique to finish that off. Some antique brads and linen thread and there you have it. All done.

Here is a close up of the Cracked Glass Clock

So thanks for stopping by and don't forget to head over
to the Just Add Ink site for more inspiration
from the lovely Design Team Ladies.

Challenge Card JAI76

Just Add Ink
Challenge #76

An Inspiration Photo

This week over at Just Add Ink we have to do design a card from the above Inspiration Picture. What a great picture. So many things you can do with this. I did think about this one for a little while, came up with some things in mind. When I did actually sit down to make my card, I managed to make something that I really didn't have in mind. Funny how that works. Anyway here is what I managed to make.

I have used Marina Mist as the base of my card, and with a layer in Whisper White got out my sponges and well sponged away. Starting with Certain Celery, then Crumb Cake, then So Saffron and finished with Marina Mist. I used the scallop circle punch for my clouds and the small circle for the sun.
I went with the bench from the Pendant Park stamp set in crumb cake ink and I used my sizzix Picket Fence die in the bigshot for obviously the fence.
The Bird Punch was used for the leaves, the Trio Flower Punch for the flowers and the Butterfly die for the little butterfly.

So don't forget to pop over to the Just Add Ink website for more inspiration.

White on White Layout

Another Challenge

Well Ladies as I was doing some surfing on the web, I came across a website with challenges(Our Creative Corner). I was having a looksie and I was amazed at what just one colour can do. Never really thought of doing only one colour but it does work. Check out the design team entries.

So I thought I would give this ago, although I didn't choose to go with a card, I decided on a Scrapbook Layout. Another milestone for me I did a page of "Me". Oh my goodness, good decision or not. I prefer to be on the other side of the camera. But anyway this is a picture of me when I was 12 months. My how things change. hehe.

I did miss the cut off time for this challenge but I thought I would still share it with you.

So here is my layout

A close up of the flowers
After having put it all together it was just crying out for some bling. So I used Kindy Glitz and some clear rhinestones. Well I hope you like my Layout and trip down memory lane.

Fathers Day School Stall

Fathers Day Gifts

Well I mentioned in a post a little while ago that I was going to put some of these lovely Briefcases/Suitcases together for my children's school fathers Day Stall and well this is what I managed so far.

I have run out of this DSP (Newsprint) so not sure if I will make anymore or maybe use up some of the other DSP in my stash. Anyway I think 10 should be enough, as I still need to fill them. I am going to put my business card in them as well, so hopefully might get some new customers.

Hope the school holidays are being kind to you and like me are able to get lots of crafting in.

Daughters Birthday

SUO Challenge 23
For the Kids

I clicked over to anther favorite site (SUO Challenges)for challenges that I like and wow I couldn't believe it. This week the challenge is for "The Kids". We had to make a child's card. You see its my daughters 12th birthday on Saturday so I already had to make a card and it well fits in with this challenge. So I sat down last night after everyone went to bed, more me time at my craft desk, love it....hehe and made Zoe her card.

I went with a favorite colour of hers in Elegant Eggplant and Very Vanilla.
Now which set would be best for a 12 year old. Mmm Totally Tess is perfect for her, well I think, anyway this is what I went with.

I stamped Tess and used my aqua painters and coloured her clothes and hair. I then set about and did some fussing cutting (Oh don't you love fussy cutting). I also used the Lots Of Tags die to make the mirror, with some Brushed Silver Metallic paper. Another favorite is the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and the crimper tool. I used the saying from "Bring on the Cake" stamp set and I have stamped it with elegant eggplant and then versamarked it and with the Heat n Stick powder I used the dazzling diamonds to add some bling. (Bling a girls favorite). Put it altogether and well there you have it.

Here is my card.
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla, Brushed Silver
Stamp Sets: Totally Tess, Bring on the Cake
Inks: Elegant Eggplant, basic Black, Early Espresso
Tools: Crimper, Square Lattice Embossing folder, Lots of Tag Die
Aqua Paitners, Blush Write Marker

Happy Mail

Gotta love that Happy Mail

Some of you might remember but last week when I entered the Just Add Ink Challenge, I was the lucky one who randomly got picked for the prize they were offering that week. What a thrill I got when I heard I had won and yes I was stalking the mail box for my gift to arrive. Yippee it came today. Darling Daughter not happy the parcel was for me and not her, due to her Birthday coming up she thinks all parcels should be for her. Well sorry Zoe but this one is all mine He He.

Here is the card that I entered

This is what I received today: This is really cool. Thank you very much Design Team and of course Patrice who made the gift.
This is what was in the pillow box packaging. I haven't used this glue before so now I have something new to try.

Thanks again Ladies and keep those challenges coming.

Friend to Friend JAI75

Just Add Ink
Colour Challenge #75

Well this week we have a Colour challenge over at Just Add Ink and I must say the samples the design team have come up with are simply fantastic. So we had to make a card with the colours Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Soft Suede, mmmm now only what to do? I wanted to try and keep this card Quick and Simple. I thought I would revisit a stamp set I don't use very much, but how was I going to do this. I don't have alot of the markers so Soft Suede and Cherry Cobbler being the two I needed as I wanted to do the direct to stamp ink, hence why I chose this set. Hang on maybe if I try the aqua painters and inks, will this work? You never know until you give it ago.

So I used the aqua painters to stamp my cherries and then I used the crystal effects of the cherries to give them the 3D look. Main card is Basic Black, with a layer of Cherry Cobbler which has been embossed with the Leafy Branch Embossing Folder and the Very Vanilla, all I might add have been distressed (hard to see on the picture). I stamped the sentiment from pocket Silouhettes Friend to Friend in Soft Suede added some Black ribbon along the bottom and there you have it.

Here is a close up of the crystal effects on my cherries.

SUO Challenge 22

SUO Challenge 22
Happy Summer Anniversary

Well I managed to get another card done today for the SUO Challenge
inbetween all those chores that need to be done, but never seem to get done by themselves. (hehe).

I have always wanted to try a ribbon rose but never really got around to doing it so while watching the footy an idea came to me and I thought it was time just to give it ago. Might need some more practice, but at least I gave it ago.

Here is my sample

I don't have a current Anniversary stamp so I used the Saying "Always" from the Always stamp set. I think it is fitting for an anniversary card.
I went with Early Espresso and Blushing Bride and I used the square lattice embossing folder and some early espresso ribbon with antique brads.

Now I will put this one away for when my anniversary comes along...

Hope you like

JAI 74 Fancy Fold Blog Hop Challenge

Just Add Ink
Fancy Fold Challenge #74

Well how amazing is this. The Design team have managed to do a blog hop all with fancy fold cards. There truly are some amazing designs they have come up with. So for the challenge this week we had to design a card from one of the Fancy Folds that the design team have showed us. I know I will be doing quite a few of them but for my entry I went with the Star Card Design that the lovely Delys showed us. You really need to go and have a look at them all, well worth the hop.

Here is my sample
I went with my favorite all time Design Series Paper in Elegant Soiree and the base of the card is Baja Breeze. The Best Wishes saying is from the Sincere Salutations stamp set. All scallop circle punches used as well. This is a picture of the card open.

Now I must say a big thank you to the design team for all the inspiration this week. You all are truly amazing.
